For those of you in the Greater Fort Lauderdale area, we will officially open on Record Store Day (April 18, 2015) at 8AM and stay open until at least 8PM. We are ordering plenty of every title available in all genres. We'll also have lots of other sales going on in the store, and free refreshments. And it is important to note we charge no more than the suggested retail price for each Record Store Day title.
On our facebook "Event" page, we posted a list of everything we ordered and what our prices are. This should help you plan! (And if you see something that's a "must have" and we only ordered one or two, let us know, because we often get merch offered to us up to the last minute and can add to our orders to make sure we have enough for everyone!)

We are bringing back the "early bird wristbands" from last year, which were very successful and made things fair and easy. Basically anyone coming into the store before 10AM got an "early bird wristband" which entitled the wearer to our significant early bird specials (dollar records, 25 cent 45's, special buys on a handful of new titles, etc.) all day long. That means you can get your RSD merch, visit another store if you like or go to work, and come back later for our discounts at your leisure.
Also, we will write a number from 1 to 12 on the first 12 wristbands to be distributed in order to the first 12 people in line. (Some people get here at 4AM, fair warning!) We will ask those first 12 people what is the one RSD item they want the most. We'll write down their answer, and put that item aside for them. (We think people hanging out since 4AM deserve that.) (Note: a person in line is defined as an adult with the means to pay for the item separately from anyone else in their party.)
Just to note, if you did come last year and have not been back since - at that time, we had just recently moved to this building and only rented one unit, so we had to temporarily rent a second unit upstairs for all the RSD stuff. That is no longer the case. We were able to rent a second unit right next to our first unit (permanently) and connected them with a doorway. We have over 2,000 sq. feet of crate-digging enjoyment.
If you have never been to We Got The Beats before, or have not been to our new location:
We opened five years ago with a focus on dance music, disco, 70's singer-songwriters, 80's stuff, R&B/Soul, and pop - specializing in imports and other things you won't find most other places - and at great prices, new & used. With the move to the new location, we also added a rock & roll department - it tends to be pretty mainstream, not too heavy, matching the rest of our groove - classic rock, 70's stuff, alt rock that crossed over to a Y-100 type of audience, etc. (Again, for RSD we order everything, and in good quantity.) When we expanded the new location, this evolved into basically "the dance side" and "the rock side" (affectionately known as "SIDE B.") The dance side also includes R&B/Soul and all new arrivals. The rock side also includes a nice sized hip-hop department.
Most of the used vinyl in our store sells for $2 to $3 each.
If you are interested in a Record Store Day item you found at www.recordstoreday.com that may be less well-known, please email Tony at firstname.lastname@example.org and tell him to order it (the sooner, the better!) Obviously we order all the Dylan, Bowie, Grateful Dead, etc. by the bucketload. But if we don't recognize something, we tend to order far fewer of it. (This is especially true of the 7" singles because we tend to get stuck with a lot of those that don't sell on RSD.) Your input really helps us to place better orders, and we are happy to do it. (Note: this is not a hold or a pre-payment or reservation, just information to help us buy enough to meet the demand.)
This is a friendly store - no 'tude, no snobbery - ask any question you may have.
